of,interlanguage(中介语),was established as learners, independent system,of the second language, which is,neither, the native language, nor, the second language, but a,continuum,(连接体)or,approximation, from one extreme of mother-tongue to the other of the second language. What learners produce, correct or wrong, are evidence of the approximation from their first language to the target language,it is imperfect compared with the target language, but it is not mere translation from the learners native language either,.However,IL should not really be seen as a,bridging/transtional,language between or,a mixture,of the target language and native language.IL is a,dynamic language system, which is constantly moving from the departure level to the native-like level. Therefore, inter actually means between the beginning stage and the final stage,.,Relationship between NL,IL and FL(SL),To a large extent,we could employ the image of inverse proportional function y=1/x(x0)to illustrate the Relationship of NL,IL and FL:lateral axis represents NL,with the vertical axis representing the FL or SL,when we observe the image carefully,it is not painful to draw the following perspective:,1.In the first quadrant,IL could, infinitely approach, the, lateral axis, that is to say,IL is approachable to NL,but it seems that they never have a,intersection, which demonstrates the dynamic, unstable characteristics of IL(the basic nature of language is to communicate, therefore dynamicity is the principal nature of IL).,2.The formation of IL is affected by both NL and TL,their relationship is,never ever restricted to,the mathmatical but the more complicated.,3.it seems that IL derives from NL and TL,but is inferior to the latter.,Explanatory figure,NL,TL TL(FL/SL),Interlanguage(IL),NL:native language,TL:target language,Latent Psychological Structure,Relevant behavioral events in a psychology of second-language learning should be made identifical with the aid of theoretical consturcts which assume the major features of the psychological structure of an adult whenever he attempts to understand SL sentences or to produce them,we assume that there is such a,psychological structure, and that it is,latent,in the brain, activitated, when one attempts to learn a SL.,The closest thing in the literature to the concept, latent psychological structure,is the concept of,latent language structure,(Lenneberg,1967)which,according to Lenneberg,is already formulated arrangement in the brain,is the biological counterpart to universal grammar, and is transformed by the infant into the, realized structure,of a paraticular grammar in accordance with certain maturational stages.,The crucial assumption we are making here is that those adults who succeed in learning a SL so that they achieve,native-speaker competence, have somehow reactived the l,atent language structure, which Lenneberg describes. This absolute success in a second affects,as we know from observation,a small percentage of learners-,perhaps a mere 5%,.,The characreristics of IL,Three sifnificant characreristics:,fossilization, systematicity, permeability.,Systematicity:it refers to the systematicity of,ILs inner structure, just like any other languages, the IL possesses a comparatively independent pronunciation, grammar and lexicon system,in consideration of ILs independent language sysem,to a certain extent,we could say that IL is a comparatively independent language, which distinguishes itself from NL or TL in terms of abundant elements. Why I regard the IL as a comparatively independent language? The verbal behavior is established, with the help of,NL and IL,and the NL could be analysed and predicated.,According to the perspective of,Adjemian,:the features of,permeability, could be interpreted in two aspects:,Firstly, the, permeability,is just like a,funnel,(漏斗),the NL regulations and rules could be transfered into the IL:我爱你 I love you(英语)Ich liebe dich(德语)(俄语),Je taime(法语)我想你 I miss you(英语),Secondly:the generalization of NL rules, which could be further illustrated the invasion of IL to IL and which could result in the deformation of TL.In my opinion, permeability, refers to the plasticity, which is changeable and flexible.,Fossilization:It is a,mechanism, which is assumed also to exist in the, latent psychological structure,.Fossilizable linguistics phonemena are linguistics items, rules, and subsystems which speakers of a particular NL will tend to keep in their IL relative t
